Forcast for the day

The last stage completely on Russian soil, will have the participants of the Transsyberia 2007 approach the Mongolian border within 62 miles. Part of the route leads the teams into the Altai Mountains, up to 3280 feet high. Not far from the village Kosh Agash the crews will set up their tents for the first time.

The first teams left Nowosibirsk in the early morning hours in order to start the 525 mile long stage. Since the route runs through the mountains, the organizers don't expect the first participants to arrive before the early evening. The participants will receive expedition food on the camp site. In the initial phase of the stage, organizer Richard Schalber said "Today is when it really starts. From now on it'll show who can endure in difficult circumstances."
